'Rock Around The Clock'은 '빌 헤일리 (Bill Haley)'를 중심으로 한 미국의 로큰롤 밴드인 '빌 헤일리 앤 히즈 코미츠 (Bill Haley & His Comets)'가 1954년 5월 20일에 발매한 싱글곡이며 1955년 12월 19일에 발매한 '빌 헤일리 앤 히즈 코미츠'의 컴필레이션 앨범인 [Rock Around The Clock]에 수록이 되었다.
'Rock Around The Clock'은 1952년 미국의 작곡가인 '제임스 E. 마이어스 (James E. Myers)'와 '맥스 C. 프리드먼 (Max C. Freedman)이 만든 신나는 로큰롤 곡으로 '빌 헤일리 앤 히즈 코미츠'에 의해 미국 빌보드 싱글 차트에 로큰롤 노래로는 최초로 1위를 차지하며 크게 히트하였다. 영국과 호주 싱글 차트에서도 1위를 차지하였다.
'Rock Around The Clock'은 롤링 스톤 선정 '역사상 가장 위대한 노래 500'에서 159위에 선정이 되었고, 로큰롤의 대중화와 로큰롤 시대를 알리는 계기가 된 노래로 평가를 받고 있는 곡이다.
